With the continuous business growth and expansion of Connor and its clients, we are looking for an IT Specialist to help us take care of all our IT needs. You will be responsible for installing or upgrading components, setting up software, assisting with network administration, and resolving all IT support issues.
Role Overview
An IT Support Specialist plays a critical role in providing technical assistance and support to users, ensuring the seamless operation of computer hardware, software, and network systems. The primary objective of this role is to optimize IT performance while delivering an exceptional user experience. This position is well-suited for individuals who are passionate about technology, enjoy solving IT challenges, and thrive on helping others. It requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and strong interpersonal abilities to deliver efficient and reliable support services. A key aspect of this role is the ability to take ownership of tasks and self-manage effectively while maintaining strong collaboration with a US-based manager. This autonomy requires proactive communication, accountability, and the ability to work independently to meet organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Troubleshooting and Problem Solving
Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to computer systems, hardware, software, and networks.
Investigate user-reported problems and deliver timely, effective solutions.
Create documentation for solutions and procedures to streamline future troubleshooting.
Technical Support
Offer technical guidance and assistance to users via platforms like the Monday.com IT Helpdesk and Security Incident Helpdesk.
Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and peripherals.
Monitor and ensure the reliability of computer systems and networks.
Customer Service
Engage with users professionally and courteously.
Simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical users.
Strive to maintain high levels of user satisfaction with IT services.
Additional Duties
Oversee and report on IT infrastructure and security systems.
Assist with hardware/software upgrades by conducting research, advising on optimal solutions and performing high-level cost analysis.
Manage onboarding/offboarding processes, including equipment procurement/retrieval, profile setup, hardware resets, and cybersecurity training sessions.
Train users on new hardware or software as needed.
Handle vendor relationships, including ordering equipment, maintaining inventory data, license management, and managing contracts.
Develop and update IT policies such as BYOD (Bring Your Own Device), Information Security Policy, Change Management Policy, and Acceptable Use Policy.
Skills and Qualifications
Technical Skills
Comprehensive knowledge of computer hardware, software, and network systems.
Proficiency in operating systems such as Windows, Mac OS, or Linux.
Certifications or expertise in tools like SharePoint, Monday.com, Microsoft 365 Administration, InTune/JumpCloud, VPNs, and Goto Resolve.
Strong troubleshooting capabilities with a focus on problem-solving and solutions-oriented approach.
Familiarity with network protocols and security practices.
Soft Skills
Exceptional communication skills to interact effectively with users at all levels of technical understanding.
Strong customer service orientation.
Analytical thinking paired with problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently while also collaborating with global spread of staff.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
Degree in Computer Science or related field.
Prior experience in a technical support role.
Prior global role or exposure is a plus.
