Purpose of the role:
Responsible for providing technical support, advice and guidance for internal/external users of IT systems and applications, either directly or by telephone, e-mail or other network interaction. Responsible for installing and maintaining computer systems and networks in order to achieve the highest functionality and optimize the role of technology.
Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years' experience with data management and general hardware and software support.
Grade 12
CompTIA A+ Certification
CompTIA Network+ Certification
Valid driver's license
Degree or Diploma in an ICT related field (advantageous)
CompTIA Security+ Certification
MCSA Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate Qualification
CCNA certified / Fortinet NSE4 - 7 (advantageous)
Minimum advanced skills and knowledge in:
Create an account for the user by using the applicable application.
Trouble shoot software related problems.
Apply the incident management procedure.
Demonstrate an advance understanding of TCPIP protocols.
Support hardware and software platforms adopted by the Company.
Troubleshoot network related problems.
Your Key Performance Activities will include but not limited to:
Reporting, Monitoring & Evaluation, Audit: Ensure that all ICT reporting is aligned with standards, guidelines and schedules.
Install and configure ICT equipment and software (Including desktops, laptops, printers, data projectors, VC equipment, access control (alarm & biometrics), handheld devices, applications etc.).
Maintain desktops and laptops.
Maintain current and accrued inventory of technology hardware, software & resources (100% accuracy of asset register).
Identify and prepare old hardware for disposal according to company disposal policy.
Provide support on hardware and software (Including desktops, laptops, printers, data projectors, VC equipment, access control (alarm & biometrics), handheld devices, applications etc.).
Troubleshoot and diagnose all reported issues.
Provide 1st level network support: Troubleshooting and resolving of any issues with the networking infrastructure and to escalate if necessary.
Add and set up new users on all relevant system.
Access the Help Desk to record, accept or resolve all IT calls that has been logged.
Troubleshooting and diagnosing of all reported issues on the helpdesk.
Provide subject matter expertise and skills in area of responsibility; advising on solutions to enhance or ensure the effectiveness of the department/section.
Establish and maintain good working relationships and an effective / sound communication system within the operation.
Housekeeping (DC, UPS Room, Tech Room and Office equipment installs etc.)
Alert Monitoring
Day to day cost Management (1 cost saving initiative per quarter).
Seek own development and leaning opportunities (1 Intervention per quarter).
Repairing and replacing equipment as necessary.
Security Management: Assisting in implementing and maintaining security measures to protect the organization's computer systems, networks, and data from cyber threats. This includes antivirus software management, access control, and data backup procedures.
Takes cognisance of and adhere to Company policies, procedures and relevant legislation. Manage and report on non-compliance issues.
