• In possession of a B .Comm. or N Dip (Accounting) or studying towards it
• 2 years experience in a similar function
• Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Pastel accounting
• Clear understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting
• Basic understanding of VAT, Employees Tax, Income Tax for Businesses
• Own transport
• Presentable, able and driven
• South African citizen

Skills required:

• Ability to learn new software
• Creativity
• Technologically savvy
• Positive attitude
• Computer literate

Duties will include:

• Process daily payments
• Assist with the preparation of tax returns and tax matters
• Assist with the preparation of any statutory returns

Responsible for, inter alia, the following:

• Maintenance of the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers and cashbooks
• Capital expenditure records and fixed asset registers
• Monitoring budgeted vs. actual expenditure
• Reporting management information and reports timeously on a monthly basis
• Capturing and processing of financial information
• Capturing bank statements / cash books
• Reconciling bank accounts
• Processing journals to account for company expenses
• Calculation of depreciation and maintenance of fixed asset register
• Reconciling creditors
• Liaise with the auditors on relevant issues
• Assist with preparation of Half-year and Annual Financial Statements
