Our client located in Cape Town, is seeking a Junior Accountant to maintain the financial records of companies by accurately recording their day-to-day financial transactionsEMPLOYMENT TYPE : Permanent

START DATE : 1 July 2024REQUIREMENTS:

• 8-10 years in Finance
• Matric with Maths/Lit + Accountancy
• Certificate in Bookkeeping or Financial Accounting
• Proficient in English + one other language
• Proficient in MS Office
• Intermediate-Advanced level in Excel - comfortable with multiple excel formulae e.g. VlookUps, pivot tables, IFERRORS, formatting

DUTIES:

• Management Accounts are accurately and timeously prepared in support of the monthly Exco Meetings, including the printing of respective decks
• Accurate daily checking and recording of transaction on Pastel
• Daily payments accurately loaded in Standard Bank by 2pm
• Prepare the Cash forecast across the businesses, including actual bank balances, all known receipts and payments, splitting payments into local and foreign. Update and manage intercompany loans, call accounts
• Intercompany transactions correctly and timeously processed, and funds transferred
• Dell is paid correct amount each month on time
• Records accurately and timeously maintained as required
• All audit queries fully addressed and all supporting documentation provided timeously
• Load daily and month-end payments for suppliers and service providers and capture to cash flow
• Verify international payments deposited to company accounts
• Receive and process administration invoices for purchases between sister companies
• Shipping pre-check to ensure all has been captured correctly for VAT calculation
• Complete monthly/bi-monthly VAT returns
• Daily cash-up (CTN) - Check data captured is correct and accurate and capture to Pastel

HOURS

• Monday to Fridays : 8:30 - 17:00
