Junior Copywriter - Cape TownFull job descriptionWe are looking for an excellent wordsmith, with a working knowledge of design, decor and architectural trends and a passion for arts, culture and lifestyle, to join our team. You will work on a range of writing deliverables, including creating articles, press releases, newsletters, social media posts and company announcements. This is a full-time role as part of a team that keeps regular office hours and thus will not suit a freelancer who has other projects on the go. It is a dedicated writing position and is best suited to someone who is a copywriting specialist.The job will cover a combination of the following:Preparing for and attending client meetings and internal status meetings.Constantly seeking fresh communication ideas and angles and producing quality copy to the highest professional standard.Researching and writing articles and press releases according to best practice and using the correct agency format.Preparing weekly updates on all writing activities undertaken.Conceptualising copy for social and digital media campaigns and monthly social media calendars and sourcing appropriate visuals.Ensuring that deliverables agreed to with clients are addressed and achieved.Generally acting in a manner and with an attitude befitting the culture and status of the company.Developing and maintaining a working relationship with all members of the team.Required:Qualification in journalism, media, communications, copywriting or relevant degreeAt least one year of relevant experience within a media house or public relations agencyFamiliarity with Google Drive and Google Apps for businessComputer literacy in all Microsoft applications - Word, Excel, PowerPointOwn transport (and valid driver's licence) requiredOwn laptop or computerWorking experience in writing for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram (TikTok is an advantage not a necessity)Working experience in supplying copy for digital advertising campaignsA motivational letter is required along with at least two contactable references.
