Junior Electrical Engineer
Job Description
hanyisile Afrisolar is looking to recruit a qualified Electrical Engineer with a minimum of 2-years experience to join our growing team. The Electrical Engineer will assist with the design, planning, and implementation of solar power systems, and associated electrical infrastructure. The role also requires a strong focus on project management, ensuring the successful delivery of projects on time, within scope, and on budge
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the electrical design of solar power systems, and electrical infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with local and international standards and codes.
Perform detailed design calculations, equipment selection, and sizing for electrical components, including inverters, transformers, cabling, switchgear, and other electrical systems.
Develop and track project timelines, schedules, and budgets to ensure milestones are met.
Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth execution of projects.
Oversee quality control, health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements during project implementation.

BSc or Beng in Electrical Engineering or equivalent Energy Efficiency Engineering Project Management Solar Project Engineering (Primary Focus) A minimum of 1year of experience in the solar energy sector. Ability to interpret and create electrical network diagrams. Hands-on experience with Solar PV systems. Proficiency in solar design software such as HOMER, PVSOL, PVSYST, or Helioscope. Experience with CAD software. Knowledge of medium voltage (MV) and substation design. Background in energy efficiency projects.
