Essence of the job:Our client is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Estimator to join our dynamic team. As a Junior Estimator, you will support the development of accurate, compliant, and competitive tenders through foundational estimating practices. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a basic understanding of the construction industry who are eager to learn and grow within a supportive environment.Qualification:Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Quantity Surveying.Minimum Requirements:Minimum 1-2 years of site experience in the construction industry.Minimum 1-2 years of experience in an estimating function, pricing civil and building projects.Willingness to work overtime when required.Knowledge: Basic understanding of civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines.Familiarity with civil engineering and building construction productivity.Basic knowledge of standard contract documentation and specifications.Skills and Abilities: Technical Skill and Competence: Basic understanding of the construction industry; willingness to learn new technical information. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; basic familiarity with CCS Candy (or willingness to learn).Commercial Orientation: Basic knowledge of financial and commercial matters; focuses on costs and market opportunities.Judgement: Makes rational decisions based on facts and available alternatives. Supports management in decision-making processes.Management Control: Assists in managing the tender process from start to finish. Prioritizes tasks effectively; ensures optimal use of time and resources. Supports the achievement of tender deadlines.
