Job Description

Job Summary My client is seeking a Junior Financial Accountant to join their dynamic team. This role involves managing financial transactions, handling accounts payable, preparing reports, and ensuring accurate financial record-keeping.This role is based in Centurion.Key Responsibilities: Financial Transactions & Bookkeeping

• Process cashbook transactions and perform bank reconciliations.
• Manage card transactions and follow up on outstanding slips.
• Coordinate proforma/quote payments with suppliers.
• Monitor bank balances to ensure sufficient funds.
• Maintain asset registers and petty cash records.
• Perform full bookkeeping up to Trial Balance.

Accounts Payable Management

• Prepare payment vouchers and capture supplier, municipal, and contractor invoices.
• Process payments on banking platforms.
• Track invoices, maintain account status records, and ensure payments are made on time.
• Maintain accurate balance sheets for accounts payable.

Month-End & Financial Reporting

• Reconcile general ledger transactions and analyze financial data.
• Identify variances and prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Process monthly and year-end journal entries.
• Assist in preparing financial records for year-end closing.

Financial Filing & Compliance

• Organize and maintain a structured financial filing system.
• Ensure timely scanning and filing of financial documentation.

Administrative Support

• Provide support to the finance team with administrative duties as required.
• Resolve financial and banking queries efficiently.
• Assist the finance manager with any accounting-related tasks.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting/Finance.
• 1-3 years experience in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
• Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
