A dynamic retail property development company in South Africa is looking for a detail-oriented Junior Financial Accountant who has a strong passion for numbers and financial analysis. If youre ready to take on a challenging and rewarding role, this opportunity is perfect for you!As a Junior Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for the following:
Organize and Process Financial Transactions:

• Process cashbook entries and manage daily transactions.
• Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
• Process card transactions and follow up on outstanding card slips with cardholders.
• Follow up with suppliers on proforma/quote payments.
• Monitor bank accounts to ensure sufficient balances are maintained.
• Maintain asset registers, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
• Manage petty cash and track usage.
• Handle full bookkeeping functions, including posting entries up to trial balance.

Manage Accounts Payable:

• Create and process payment vouchers.
• Capture supplier, municipal, and contractor invoices accurately.
• Record payments on banking platforms.
• Pay and file invoices, keeping track of each accounts status.
• Maintain detailed balance sheets to track accounts payable.

Prepare Month-End Reports:

• Reconcile general ledger transactions to ensure accuracy.
• Conduct monthly analysis of financial data and identify variances.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Post monthly and year-end journals.
• Prepare financial records for the year-end closing.

Maintain Financial Filing Systems:

• Ensure financial documentation is well-organized and filed.
• Regularly scan and file financial information to maintain accurate records.

Assist with Clerical and Administrative Tasks:

• Assist the financial department with administrative duties as needed.
• Resolve any financial-related queries.
• Handle banking administration and address any banking queries.
• Support the finance manager/head of finance with any reasonable financial or accounting tasks as required.

Qualifications:
Completed Bcom Financial Accounting
