We are seeking a Junior Environmental Geochemist to join our team and support environmental investigations and site assessments. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in geochemistry, hydrogeology, and environmental science, with an interest in applying their skills to real-world environmental challenges. This role involves fieldwork, laboratory data analysis, and technical reporting to assess the environmental impact of contaminants in soil, water, and air.
Conduct field sampling of soil, waste rock, tailings, groundwater, surface water, and sediments following standard environmental protocols.
Assist in data analysis and interpretation to evaluate Mine Drainage and Metal Leaching.
Perform laboratory data interpretation and quality control to ensure accuracy in geochemical assessments.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including hydrogeologists and environmental scientists.
Prepare technical reports, including data summaries, figures, and interpretations of geochemical trends.
Proficiency in relevant environmental legislations.
Maintain safety protocols and ensure compliance with health and environmental standards during field operations.
Strong organisational skills.
Effective communication skills (verbal and written).
Proficiency in French or Spanish would be advantageous.
Capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.
Aptitude for independently learning and interpreting new software packages, if required.
Strong analytical skills and sound administration skills.
Possession of a valid passport and driver's license.
A willingness to travel within Africa and potentially other locations, as required.
