Eastern Cape, UitenhageMonthly Cost To Company (Market related)Our client in the Automotive components manufacturing industry, based in Uitenhage (38 kms to Port Elizabeth), is currently looking to employ a Junior Industrial Engineer (EE).An exciting career opportunity awaits you!Requirements:

• An Engineering Degree / Diploma.
• 1 - 2 years industrial engineering experience in an automotive environment.
• Ability to assist in the design of factory layouts.
• Computer literacy must include MS Word MS Projects, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint, Auto Cad.
• Must have the ability to work under continuous pressure.
• Have excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities, but not limited to:

• Provide management with information in order to effectively manage organizational resources.
• Implement and improve production line efficiency, standardised work processes, packaging, material information flow.
• Conduct method studies for all existing and proposed operations within areas of delegated responsibility, in order to improve efficiency in production with an emphasis on material conveyance.
• Determine accurate standard times for all existing and proposed operations within areas of delegated responsibility, through the application of the various work measurement techniques and communicate these to the responsible person.
• Investigate feasibility of projects under review, determine various alternative advantages / disadvantages and prepare justifications for management approval.
• Conduct man assignment and line balance studies to ensure the best utilisation of labour and optimum labour costs within areas of delegated responsibility.
• Study and observe implemented systems daily and implement corrective actions as required.
• Report irresolvable non-conformances to Senior Industrial Engineer.
• Draw necessary MIFD for current and future plans.
• Layouts and plant improvements with TPS philosophy in mind.
• Close out all internal audit findings within areas of delegated responsibility in time and ensure that evidence is provided to show effective close-out.
• Conduct Housekeeping, Environmental and Health & Safety observation tours as scheduled.
• Daily liaison with Line Management & provide assistance as required.
• Compile & submit required monthly reports to Senior Industrial Engineer.
• Undertake any other projects or tasks as assigned by Management from time to time.
