Junior Lab Technician (JHB) (LC_700) Scientific (Technical)Great opportunity for a young Chemist / Microbiologist who would like to gain lab experience in an ISO 17025 analytical testing environment.ESSENTIALSMinimum of a BSc / National Diploma / BTech in Analytical Chemistry / Microbiology / related. Must have a hands-on approach to lab work, an ability to follow instructions thoroughly, pay attention to detail and work in meticulous & methodical manner. SA citizenship, residing in JHB.Location: Woodmead, JohannesburgSalary: Based on experience (including benefits)DETAILSOur client is an established ISO 17025 accredited Analytical testing laboratory who services the Water, Wastewater, Mining, Agricultural, Viticulture and Food and Beverage industries.Theyre looking to fill a junior level role within the lab environment, full training will be provided to the right individual, who will be someone with the qualification and self-motivation to learn on the job and show conscientiousness and tenacity in their approach to work. The types of roles this role will include:

• Performing laboratory testing following training in test procedures,
• Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), conducting routine analyses
• Prepare Agar, operate autoclave.
• Familiarize oneself with the Quality Management System (QMS),
• Ensure Quality Controls are updated, monitored and correctly interpreted
• Ensure environmental monitoring is done as part of daily operations
• Other ad hoc lab-based and administrative duties

REQUIREMENTS

• ND/BSc/BTech Chemistry / Biochemistry / Microbiology
• Personal attributes: Neat, precise, organised, task focused, responsible, self-motivated, hard-working team player
• Strong communication skills in English, computer literate
• South African citizen, must already be residing in JHB
