Junior Microbiologist: Ballito (KZN) (LC_701) Scientific (Technical)
Durban - KwaZulu Natal - South AfricaGreat opportunity for a young, qualified microbiologist who would like to gain lab experience in an ISO 17025 testing environment.ESSENTIALSMinimum of a BSc / National Diploma / BTech in Microbiology. Lab-based experience is advantageous. Must have a hands-on approach to lab work, an ability to follow instructions thoroughly, pay attention to detail and work in meticulous & methodical manner.SA citizenship, residing in reasonable distance to commute to Ballito daily.Location: Ballito, KZNSalary: Entry levelDETAILSOur client is an established ISO 17025 accredited Analytical testing laboratory who services the Water, Wastewater, Mining, Agricultural, Viticulture and Food and Beverage industries.Theyre looking to fill a junior level role within the lab environment, full training will be provided to the right individual, who will be someone with the qualification and self-motivation to learn on the job and show conscientiousness and tenacity in their approach to work. The types of roles this role will include:

• Performing laboratory testing following training in test procedures,
• Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), conducting routine analyses
• Prepare Agar, operate autoclave.
• Familiarize oneself with the Quality Management System (QMS),
• Ensure Quality Controls are updated, monitored and correctly interpreted
• Ensure environmental monitoring is done as part of daily operations
• Other ad hoc lab-based and administrative duties

REQUIREMENTS

• ND/BSc/BTech Chemistry / Biochemistry / Microbiology
• Personal attributes: Neat, precise, organised, task focused, responsible, self-motivated, hard-working team player
• Strong communication skills in English, computer literate
• South African citizen, must already be residing in JHB
