Job SummaryJunior QA & Support Analyst (SQL) IT - Support ~ IT - Software Testing
Stellenbosch - Western CapeENVIRONMENT:A fast-growing FinTech company with a footprint on the African continent seeks a highly talented Junior QA & Support Analyst with strong SQL skills to join its team. You will help build out its world class software platform whileplaying a key role in ensuring the quality and functionality of products through systematic testing and validation processes. Applicants will require prior experience in a Software Quality Assurance or Support role including SQL experience with a strong interest in continuous development and upskilling in testing tools and technologies.DUTIES:

• Conduct thorough testing of software applications to identify bugs, defects, and other issues.
• Create and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate product functionality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Developers and Product Owners, to communicate and resolve quality issues.
• Document and report defects, ensuring accurate and detailed information is provided for efficient issue resolution.
• Perform Regression Testing to ensure that previously identified and resolved defects do not reoccur.
• Conduct 2nd Line Support activities and engage in root cause analysis to address and resolve reported issues.
• Provide weekend standby support when required.
• Participate in the design and improvement of testing processes and methodologies.
• Stay informed about industry best practices and new testing tools to continuously enhance the Quality Assurance process.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous experience in a Software Quality Assurance or Support role.
• Strong SQL experience.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A strong interest in continuous development and upskilling in testing tools and technologies.
• Excellent analytical skill and logical thinking.
• Good communication skills.
• Accurate and high-quality result-oriented work approach.
• Genuine passion for Africa and a willingness to contribute to projects in a developing world context.

Advantageous

• Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.
