Role Purpose

We are looking for a Junior Quantity Surveyor for our P&DS team in Johannesburg, South Africa. The successful candidate will provide assistance to the Senior Quantity Surveyor with pre and post contract quantity surveying deliverables.

What this job involves

Pre-Contract:

• Preparation of initial budget estimates.
• Preparation of concept estimates to detailed estimates throughout design development stages.
• Value Engineering.
• BOQ production.
• Assist with preparation of tender documents.
• Assist SQS with managing tender period, analysis and recommendation.

Post Contract:

• Co-ordination and compiling Contract Documents.
• Payment Recommendations.
• Controlling change control process.
• Assisting with agreement of variations / claims.
• Assisting with agreement of Final Accounts.

The above responsibilities will be performed under the supervision of the SQS.

• Excellent pre and post contract technical cost and commercial management skills.
• Articulate in written and oral communication.
• Minimum 2-4 years work experience.
• Degree in related subject (Quantity Surveying).
• MRICS / SACQSP or in process would be advantageous.
