Job Summary Assist in estimating the costs involved in mining projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and overheads. Work closely with engineers and project managers to develop accurate project budgets and cost plans. Assist in the tendering process by preparing tender documents, analyzing bids from contractors and suppliers, and recommending the most cost-effective solutions. Responsible for measuring and quantifying work done on-site, such as earthworks, piping, engineering, excavation, and construction. Measurement and quantification of construction drawings. Compilation of bills of quantities, including method of measurement. Assess the value of work completed and prepare interim valuations for payment to contractors. Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase, identifying variances between budgeted and actual costs and recommending corrective actions when necessary. Track changes to the scope of work and assess their impact on project costs. Assist in administering contracts, ensuring that all parties comply with contractual obligations and procedures. Handle tasks such as issuing instructions, assessing claims for variations, and resolving disputes. Identify and assess risks related to cost overruns, delays, and other project uncertainties.
