Job Description

To study and forecast the price behavior of mined or extracted commodities, alongside commodity supply and demand markets.

Afriforesight, a leading research firm based in Cape Town, needs a graduated person to be trained in mining commodity research and forecasting. You must be passionate about learning cutting-edge research & forecasts to help bring new insights to our industrial or commercial clients. You shall learn to communicate complex information effectively and should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Your ideal profile:

A bachelor's degree in a mining commodity related field (B. Sc. and B. Eng.) from a recognized university. Preferably Chemical Engineering or Metallurgy.

Must have at least 1 year working experience (preferably within a research or development related environment).

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Ability to work independently and/or collaboratively.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

What will also be an advantage:

Experience in commodity related research and/or business forecasting.

Proficiency in additional software such as MS Access, MS Teams, SharePoint.

A passion for business, economics, and an understanding of unfolding geopolitical events.

Knowledge of the stock market.

Remuneration:

16k - 28k per month - Negotiable, dependent on qualifications skills and experience.
