Title: Junior Salesforce Developer

Location: Hermanus, Western Cape

Remuneration: Up to R500,000.00 CTC per annum (salary based on qualifications and experience)

Business Unit: ICT

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

Key Requirements:

It is desirable that the candidate have proven expertise in both business and technical facets of the role including:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in any related field.
  • Salesforce Development Certification (e.g., Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I or Salesforce App Builder.) recommended.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years experience in Salesforce Development and release management support.
  • Familiarity with Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning Web Components (LWC).
  • Experience in SQL is recommended, but not required.
  • Ability to solve problems and/or deliver innovative solutions.
  • Ability to cope well under pressure and remain calm in dynamic situations is crucial.
  • Ability to prioritise and focus on multiple tasks to achieve positive outcomes is crucial.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to explain complex issues in easily understood language that convey key messages successfully at all levels of the organisation.
The Role:

As a Junior Salesforce Developer within the Information & Communications Technology (ICT) team, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), you will collaborate closely with the Senior Salesforce Developer and Business Analyst (BA) to support Salesforce implementation, maintenance, and enhancements from a technical perspective.

Key Accountabilities:

Configuration and Development:
  • Assist in designing, configuring, customizing, developing, testing, documenting, and deploying business solutions on the Force.com platform.
  • Follow design guidelines provided during planning and adhere to architectural standards.
  • Support basic unit/module testing, integration/regression testing, and adhere to test-driven development principles.
  • Support the implementation of Salesforce process automations using Salesforce flows and APEX code.
  • Support configuration, customization, and development to integrate Salesforce with external systems using web services and APIs.
  • Assist in configuring and customizing Digital Experiences based on business requirements.
  • Evaluate software products and recommend solutions based on functionality and value for money.
  • Maintain joint accountability with the Senior Salesforce Developer for the release management process.
Integration Leadership:
  • Assist in managing interfaces between Salesforce and external systems involving web services, APIs, and plugins.
General:
  • Contribute to delivering a configured CRM system on the Salesforce platform to meet business requirements.
  • Support ease of maintenance by implementing best practices and architectural standards to limit customization.
  • Enhance the CRM system to meet time, quality, and cost expectations.
Compliance:
  • Comply with all company standard operating procedures (SOPs), policies, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Comply with all regulatory rules including but not limited to FSCA, FAIS and SARB (where relevant).
Key Performance Indicators (KPIS):

Proficiency in this role may be measured using some or all the stated KPIs; but, also not limited or restricted to those indicated below.
  • Support stable Salesforce implementation with less than 0.1% downtime - Downtime analyses during period of review.
  • Document program requirements to ensure compliance with the programming standards framework and best practice architectural principles - Review documentation.
  • Quality of interaction and communication with internal stakeholders - 360xc2xb0 review of communication and interactions with internal stakeholders.
Key Relationships:

Internal and external relationships; level of interaction and purpose.

Internal (Primary)
  • Information & Communications Technology (ICT) team members - interact and communicate to ensure successful delivery of project/programme outcomes.
  • Senior Salesforce Developer - to seek advice, direction, and guidance on delivery of successful project outcomes.
Internal (Secondary)
  • Risk and Compliance - to consult and seek advice on financial / business risks, controls, mitigating actions and response.
External
  • Salesforce system integrators (Salesforce.com).
  • Technical resources from external companies.

Additional Information:
  • Employment Engagement - This is a permanent position. The incumbent will be employed under an employment contract which specifies employment terms and conditions including salary.
