Role Description




We are seeking an enthusiastic and well-organised

Junior SEO Manager

to join our team in

Cape Town

(South Africa) or

Nairobi

(Kenya). This role is crucial in

supporting our customers' organic online growth with advanced SEO strategies.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess excellent data analysis skills, and have the ability to juggle multiple tasks efficiently.

Your key responsibilities will include:





Under the guidance of our Senior SEO Specialist, you will:

Conduct keyword research

and

create content briefs

to drive content-optimised SEO strategies.

Write and edit content using AI tools

while ensuring quality and search engine compliance. Execute

backlink outreach

campaigns to improve our clients' domain authority and rankings. Perform regular

Technical SEO checks

and guide our clients through the implementation of recommendations. Be a

primary SEO point of contact with our clients

, providing regular project status and performance updates.

Shape the future of SEO in Africa

with us, by developing our AEO (Answer Engine Optimisation) and GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation) capabilities!

Qualifications



You already have 2+ years of SEO experience:

you have already been working at an agency or directly with large brands on complex SEO projects, including SEO localisation, working with custom code (no CMS) and delivering extensive SEO audits.

You can drive conversations with developers:

you ideally have past developer experience, can work with front-end and back-end developers, understand how a CMS works, and can easily read HTML and CSS.

You're a data nerd:

you have a scientific mindset and are excited about finding the truth in numbers, refining your strategies based on what analytics say and digging into measurement topics with our clients to help them get SEO reports that represent business reality.

You are opinionated:

sticking to your beliefs is important when implementing bold strategies. Under supervision of our Senior SEO Specialist, we'll expect you to research and find solutions to challenges, expose your technical solutions to the team and be confident in front of our clients to convince them your approach is the right one.

You're a great communicator:

you have an excellent command of written and verbal English, with the ability to clearly articulate ideas and feedback to a varied audience (customers & team members) spanning across Nigeria, Kenya and South Africa. You are comfortable speaking in front of a large audience.

You are flexible:

you are willing to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment. You may be required to travel domestically or to our key international markets.

Bonus:

You already have experience working with AEO/GEO strategies:

you understand the key differences between SEO, AEO and GEO and are able to implement strategies boosting visibility on LLMs or Answer Engines.

You have fully embedded the use of AI agents in your SEO work:

you are at the forefront of software discovery and usage and master the generation of SEO-optimised content relevant for our customers industries.

You are familiar with high-paced environments:

you have already worked in a start-up or agency and have been exposed to the intensity of the services industry. Customer is king, we sometimes work long hours and ship without delays, yet with limited resources.
