This is s mid career roleFMCG- Cape TownIncrease competitiveness and profitability of product categories by providing analysis and recommendations in support of planning and executing shoppercentric category strategies that deliver sustainable category and business growth the Brand (in line with the pre-defined commercial and business goals of the company).Key Responsibilitiesxc2xb7 Category analysis, insight and reportingo Ongoing analysis and interpretation of key account level and channel level data from retailer systems and market data (IRI, Qlikview, SmartShopper etc) to identify category opportunitieso Tracking of customer performance vs. KPIs including risks and opportunitieso Contribute to the Innovation / New Product Development process by analysing market data and presenting relevant facts / insights that help build compelling selling arguments for, and supports new product launcheso Provide the business with regular performance updates and insights to drive category growth - create a regular meeting forum for category updateso Provide analytical support in the development of category plans and range reviews in other retailers if requiredxc2xb7 Managing and supporting customer category range reviewso Identification of retailer performance gaps and opportunities through data analysiso Use of insights from data analysis to influence range and distribution, from breadth and depth perspective, as requiredo Application of Brands category management approach to influence range, space and merchandising incorporating visits and meetings in the merchandising centre at key times through in-depth understanding of customer ranging process and prioritieso Work collaboratively with brand and sales team to drive recommendations with customerso Work towards achieving the Brands targets within key account around share of space/sales, planogram development, distribution targets etcxc2xb7 Implement Category Plans with customerso Support the development of category plans with key customero Lead the implementation of category projects in the key customero Use insight and work with Customer Marketing to develop ease of shop planograms, fixturisation, POS and other in-store initiativesRequirementsxc2xb7 Retail/FMCG understandingxc2xb7 Skills in Data analysis, data interpretation and data managementxc2xb7 Able to present Data Insights articulately and to a varied audiencexc2xb7 Solid Excel skillsxc2xb7 Must have an understanding of local competitor, customer/key account and broader market insightsxc2xb7 Excellent analytical abilitiesxc2xb7 Excellent numeracy skillsxc2xb7 Excellent written and verbal communication skillsxc2xb7 Great attention to detail and highly organizedxc2xb7 Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlinesxc2xb7 Self-motivated with a can-do attitude.Qualifications/experiencexc2xb7 BCom Degree or suitable tertiary qualificationxc2xb7 Previous experience in an analytical role (FMCG environment preferred) (minimum 2 years)xc2xb7 Prerequisites include a working knowledge of external market data software, with preference given to candidates who have mastered the use of IRI/NielsenPlease email cv and package requirement to
