Junior Technician (Electrical & Mechanical (JB5078)
Midrand, Gauteng
R13-R15 000 per month plus benefits
Duration: PermanentA UK-based company with operations in South Africa is seeking a Junior Technician with both electrical and mechanical experience to join their team in Midrand. This role involves hands-on technical work, repairs, maintenance, and customer service. The ideal candidate should be fit and able to handle labor-intensive tasks, as the role is physically demanding.The technician will primarily be working with industrial and commercial cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, scrubber dryers, carpet cleaners, and other floorcare machinery.Minimum Requirements:
Experience in both electrical and mechanical repairs.
Physically fit and capable of handling labor-intensive work.
Willingness to travel occasionally (expenses covered).
Must be able to work overtime and be on standby when required (compensated).
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and within a team.Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform repairs and maintenance on industrial cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, scrubber dryers, carpet cleaners, and other related machinery.
Handle and test equipment both internally and externally.
Assist in managing stock, receiving parts, and installing quoted components.
Provide customer support at the service reception, ensuring prompt and professional service.
Travel to client sites when required (accompanied by a senior technician).
Adhere to client site rules and procedures, maintaining professionalism at all times.
Maintain and take responsibility for issued tools and spare parts.
Keep the workshop and service area clean and organized.
Complete all necessary paperwork for repairs, quotes, and service logs.
Follow safety regulations and wear the correct PPE when working with tools, chemicals, and equipment.
