This role offers a unique opportunity to work with a market leader in the chemical industry, specifically supporting operations at a Paper, Packaging, Board, and Tissue manufacturing production facility in the Western Cape region.As a Sales and Service Representative, you will be at the forefront of ensuring their customers' success and satisfaction. Whether you are a recent Chemical Engineering graduate eager to apply your knowledge or a seasoned professional with a matric certificate and at least five years of industry experience, we want to hear from you!Physical and Mobility Requirements: No physical restrictions, but must maintain personal health to perform physical tasks. Valid SA driver's license and ability to travel between customer sites, with occasional overnight stays for trials.Education: Preferably a BTech in Pulp and Paper, a Degree or Diploma in Chemical Engineering, or a B.Sc. in Chemistry.   • Daily Operations Oversight: Supervise the daily operations of tissue and board mills, conducting laboratory evaluations and ensuring optimal machine performance.
  • Customer Support: Develop and maintain strong, professional relationships with clients, understanding their needs and delivering monthly technical reports.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to company work instructions and safety guidelines, ensuring safe chemical handling and proper use of PPE.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain adequate inventory levels of chemicals on customer sites, manage stock rotation, and ensure timely reporting and forecasting.
  • Technical Expertise: Execute and manage chemical trials, diagnose and resolve customer issues, and keep process flow diagrams and competitor activities updated.
  • EHS Standards: Uphold company and mill safety standards, participate in EHS training, and ensure compliance with safety protocols for all employees and subcontractors.
Major Tasks and Duties
  • Sustaining positive and professional rapport with clients.
  • Develop a comprehensive of customer needs and performance outcome expected from customers.
  • Generate monthly technical reports for the mill.
  • Executing and managing chemical trials with the Account Manager
  • Attend and actively engage in monthly, quarterly, and yearly mill review meetings.
  • Perform standby responsibilities at specified paper or tissue mills.
  • Perform inventory management and month-end tasks.
  • Performing market, tissue, and paper machine surveys.
  • Participate in daily morning meetings as necessary.
  • Accountable for diagnosing and resolving issues when clients encounter difficulties.
  • Ensure active participation in upholding the company's EHS standards, procedures, and operational controls.
  • Ensure an adequate inventory of chemicals are maintained on site for all relevant uses.
  • Oversee the maintenance and functionality of equipment at customer sites, ensuring that it is in optimal
working condition and that essential spare parts are readily accessible to ensure equipment is kept in
good well maintained condition to avoid any equipment failure that could impact on machine runnability
or quality. * Ensure that technical and laboratory duties are executed with utmost caution to prevent any injury tooneself or the environment. * Expected to support and conduct chemical trials outside working hours from time to time when neededStock Management:
  • Ensure accurate stock reports and forecasts.
  • Manage stock offloading and site inventories.
Customer Interactions:
  • Compile and deliver monthly reports to customers.
  • Participate in customer meetings and assist in minute-taking.
Intellectual Property:
  • Maintain up-to-date process flow diagrams.
  • Record competitor activities and inform management of customer developments.
Sales Management:
  • Manage ordering, stock reporting, and equipment performance.
  • Maintain an updated equipment asset register and ensure proper stock rotation.
Safety:
  • Keep EHS files and safety requirements updated.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards for all company employees and contractors.
