Responsible for obtaining and maintaining long term key customers by comprehending their requirements.Be apt in building strong relationships with strategic customers and be able to identify needs and requirements to promote our companys solutions and achieve mutual satisfaction.The goal is to contribute to sustaining and growing our business to achieve long-term success.Takes responsibility for the development, exploitation and maximization of the account penetration and profitable growth of assigned customers for one or more organizational units in a specific region with close collaboration with the National Key Account Managers for both Public and Private Customers.The Areas of Responsibility for this role include but are not limited to:

  • Generates knowledge on the customer's specific strategy and its political and business environment.
  • Analyses customer's markets, position and needs and investigates for specific business opportunities for customer related product and service portfolio.
  • Defines and implements account business plans (3 to 5 years). Include information such as COB (customer operating budget), key challenges, competitor servicing account to level of product line and contracts in place.
  • Prepares customer contacts and builds and maintains a sound customer focused network, on all relevant hierarchical levels.
  • Builds value-oriented offers.
  • Generates client specific products and service portfolio concepts, if suitable across all services of a business.
  • Initiates, facilitates, and contributes to contract negotiations for products, projects and service or solution assignments.
  • Manages customer complaints as point of escalation, if necessary.
  • Is responsible for the annual Order Intake for all customers within a specific region.
Strategic Account Planning and Execution
  • Responsible for the development, exploitation and maximization of the account penetration and profitable growth of assigned customers for one or more organisational units in the region
  • Analyses customers markets, position and needs and investigates for specific business opportunities for the customer related product and service portfolio.
Support of Sales Opportunities:
  • Meets with customer contacts and management to determine present and future business objectives.
  • Develops all qualified sales opportunities for specific regional end site.
  • Understands the competitors position within the account.
  • Know the organizational structure of the Account and know how decisions are made.
  • Build relationships with decision makers and influencers within the Accounts who will play a role in acquiring new solutions from suppliers.
Customer Point of Contact:
  • Serves as the liaison between SHS and the customer to support SHS sales and long-term business development.
  • Monitors, responds to, and escalates customer feedback/complaints/issues as appropriate to support high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Develops cross-selling and multi-specialty opportunities across all divisions.
Sales Plan Execution
  • Qualifies opportunities - probes, discusses needs and provides answers to customers
  • Determines customer needs and their requirements
  • Delivers informational and persuasive presentations
  • Coordinates product demonstrations with Product Specialists or Technical Application Specialists and all SHS/customer stakeholders (internal and external stakeholder management)
  • Negotiates key sales issues as appropriate, including contract negotiations
  • Closes and secures orders
  • Follows-up and manages post-sales actions nationally.
  • Works with the Product Specialists to qualify and target key sales opportunities
  • Takes the lead in multi-specialty deals for all Key Accounts in their Portfolio
Your expertise:
  • Degree or Diploma in Biomedical Technology (Clinical Pathology) or related qualification
  • Good understanding of In-Vitro testing and of Small to Large Lab workflow, management, and challenges. Advantage of previous lab management role.
  • The applicant needs to preferably come from a sales environment dealing with InVitro instruments and have a minimum of 3 years proven track record in In-Vitro sales.
Additional Requriemetns
  • A valid South African drivers license and own car is required.
  • Extensive travel within in the Gauteng/Northwest/Mpumalanga/Limpopo region.
Intermediate Microsoft office skills are required.Who we are:
