Key Accounts Manager Diagnostics - Cape TownFull job descriptionKey Accounts Manager DiagnosticsRole Purpose:Radiology Key Account Managers are the key point of contact between Bayer Pharmaceuticals and healthcare professionals, building relationships and working strategically to increase Bayer product awareness, answering product queries and introducing new products all with a clear focus on meeting patients and customers needs.Scope (global, regional or local):Local South AfricaKey Tasks:Selling the Bayer Pharmaceutical product range, in the Western, Eastern Cape as well as Namibia to defined customers (Radiologists, Radiographers, Pharmacists and other HCPs)Meeting (and exceeding) sales targets for the specified product portfolioPlanning and managing the national territory using available Bayer systems, which includes daily administrative duties (logging calls, corporate compliant workflow involving functions and events, expense claims, keeping record of promotional spend, etc.) which are clearly explained in the Bayer Sales Force Effectiveness documentationDeveloping compliant strategies for increasing opportunities to meet face to face with customers in the medical and healthcare sectorKeeping up to date with the latest clinical data supplied by the company, and interpreting, presenting and discussing this data with health professionals during face to face interactions.Maintaining product knowledge by attending training sessions; reviewing published clinical trials; attending scientific meetings.Adjusting content of sales presentations by assessing customers and patients needs and presenting appropriate clinical data to increase awareness of products whilst still adhering to marketing and medical strategies.Managing budgets for appropriate promotional items, arranging meetings with outside speakers and relevant hospitalityBuilding and maintaining positive professional working relationships with healthcare professionals and supporting staffMonitoring competition and opportunities by gathering current, published marketplace informationGathering, analyzing and sharing information from the field to allow the company to develop strategies appropriate to the customers and patients needsCollaborating with the Medical Department to plan and execute educational/scientific activities for customers on a needs basisEnsuring adherence to industry specific codes of practice or conduct, advertising codes, regulatory directive and guidelines, as applicable to the role, and to the program for legal compliance and corporate responsibility at BayerKey Working Relations:Internal:Country HeadOther Key Account Managers in RadiologyMedical and Regulatory, including Compliance OfficersMarket Access TeamTraining ManagersSales RepresentativesAdministrative StaffExternal:Doctors ( cardiologists)Cathlab staffAdministrative Support StaffPharmacistsRelated Health Care Professionals e.g. NursesSkills & Qualifications:Education: Matric with a tertiary qualification e.g. Nursing/ Radiography or equivalent Preferably Medical background.Experience: An experienced sales representative with a proven track record and a minimum of 3 to 4 years in pharmaceutical Sales with excellent relationships within the Radiology field, but not essential.Skills: Commercial awareness, Sales Skills, Customer Service, Motivation for Sales and Meeting Sales Goals, Territory Management, Prospecting Skills, Negotiation Skills, Self Confidence, Product Knowledge, Presentation Skills, Strong Interpersonal and Communication Skills. Organizational and Time Management Skills.
