We are seeking a talented and driven Kitchen Manager/Head Chef to lead our culinary team and help us continue to deliver exceptional food to our patrons.Job Summary:We are looking for an experienced and creative Kitchen Manager/Head Chef to oversee our kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in menu planning, particularly in developing and executing daily specials. They will also be adept in managing kitchen staff, promoting staff development, and ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen. The role requires a strong leader who is not only proficient in culinary arts but also capable of handling administrative duties.Key Responsibilities:Menu Planning & Execution:Develop and plan creative daily specials, ensuring a variety of options are available.Present a planned specials menu weekly, with detailed costing submitted to management.Incorporate seasonal ingredients and current food trends into menu planning.Kitchen Management:Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation.Lead, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.Implement cross-training programs to enhance staff skills and versatility.Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to health and safety regulations.Administrative Duties:Manage inventory, order supplies, and monitor stock levels to ensure efficient operation.Menu planning and costings.Handle scheduling, possible assisting with cash ups , and other administrative tasks as needed.Month End Stock TakeCulinary Skills:Demonstrate expertise in a variety of cooking techniques, including baking and pizza making.Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest standard and meet customer expectations.Work alongside the kitchen team during busy periods, providing hands-on support and guidance.Qualifications & Requirements:Proven experience as a Head Chef or Kitchen Manager in a high-paced environment.Exceptional culinary skills, with a strong emphasis on creativity and innovation.Excellent menu planning and costing abilities.Strong leadership and team management skills.Proficient in kitchen administration and inventory management.Baking and pizza making skills are highly desirable.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Living close to Cape Town, Vredehoek is a plus.Personal Attributes:Passionate about food and hospitality.Creative and innovative, with a keen eye for detail.Strong organizational and time management skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.What we offer:A supportive and dynamic work environment.The chance to be part of a creative and passionate team.Please submit your resume and a cover letter detailing your experience and why you would be a great fit for our team.Apply Now:Email: deerparkcafe@gmail.comJob Type: Full-timeExperience:Chef: 5 years (Preferred)Location:Vredehoek, Western Cape (Preferred)
