Warehouse Operations and Logistics Manager (JB3726)
Boksburg, Johannesburg
R75 000 - 85 000 per month, CTC
Permanent

Ideal opportunity for a candidate who is process-driven, with excellent people management skills to lead and inspire a diverse team within a national, FMCG-focused, warehousing and distribution company.

Minimum Requirements:
A Logistics / Supply Chain-related degree.
10 years of experience in a Logistics or Warehousing environment
Minimum of 2 years in a leadership role
Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems and Planning.
Experience with ERP systems is beneficial.
Proven negotiation skills demonstrated through successful interactions with vendors, contractors, and similar parties.
Exceptional planning and organizational capabilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Warehousing Management:
Effective and efficient management of a warehouse (receiving, warehousing, and despatching).
Implementation of processes and monitoring of performance outcomes to ensure service levels are sustained.
Ensure customer service level agreements are adhered to through the availability and performance of all systems
Identifying and implementing process improvement across all aspects of the warehouse.
Negotiate service level agreements with service providers and monitor performance to ensure service levels are being met.
Review acquisition and maintenance contracts, in conjunction with
Oversee and manage the service provision of purchase or rental agreements for products and services.

Transportation Management:
Oversee transport services to ensure that goods are despatched and delivered timeously.
Manage the contracts of outsourced logistics service providers.
Monitor the performance of outsourced logistics service providers.
Manage and report on transport-related costs.

Team Leadership:
Lead multifunctional teams across the various warehouse functions (receiving, warehousing, and despatching).
Ensure accountability for work.
Plan for their development and growth.

Compliance:
Stay up-to-date with legislative requirements pertaining to the industry, and trade/industry best practices.
Take accountability for the total facility health and safety processes, ensuring compliance.
Maintain OHS Compliance on a high level, by demonstrating expertise in vehicle safety management (FSA (Industry Compliance); Vehicles (licensing/operation); OHS Act; legislation compliance and collaborating with relevant Compliance. Consultants/Providers.

Financial Management:
Take responsibility and accountability for the facilities budgets; including participating in and drawing up operational and capital budgets.
Manage expenses, ensuring the most efficient use of company resources.
Stay up to date with changes in cost drivers in the logistics industry.
