Academic/Lecturer - Postgraduate Diploma in Artificial Intelligence (JB3599)

We are a private higher education distance education provider specializing in undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Academic/Lecturer to join our team for the Postgraduate Diploma in Artificial Intelligence program.

Qualifications:
Master's Degree (essential)
Master in: OR related field
Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning.
Master of Computer Science (M.C.S.) with a specialization in AI or Data Science.
Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in AI and Robotics.
Master of Information Technology (M.IT) with a focus on AI and Data Analytics.
Master of Data Science (MDS) with a strong AI component.
Ph.D. or in progress, or a clear intention to commence Ph.D.
4-5 years of academic experience
2-3 years of demonstrated engagement in an online education environment

Skills Required:
Proficiency in online education and learning management systems (e.g., Blackboard, Moodle, Classera)
Proficiency in MS Office
Thorough understanding of the South African Higher Education regulatory framework

Responsibilities:
Programme Development, Management, and Review:
Conduct needs analysis to identify learning objectives and desired outcomes
Develop, manage, and continually review a dynamic curriculum with innovative learning pathways
Monitor and evaluate online programs based on quality criteria, ensuring alignment with learning objectives
Teaching and Facilitation:
Facilitate online lectures
Provide academic consultation and build strong relationships with students
Design, deliver, and coordinate group activities such as online tutorials and webinars
Student Engagement and Support:
Promote critical thinking and collaboration through discussion forums, real-world case studies, problem-solving exercises, and peer-to-peer interactions
Identify at-risk students and provide timely pastoral care and support
Assessment and Feedback:
Design formative and summative assessments and reflection activities
Conduct program and module evaluations
Collaborate with quality assurance teams to align programs with regulatory standards
Research and Publication:
Maintain active research profile
Supervise student research reports
Publish in international journals
Share knowledge through webinars and workshops
Administrative Duties and Coordination:
Serve as a subject matter expert for content resource development
Undertake administrative tasks related to program and quality management, including data analytics and reporting
Potentially serve as a program coordinator
Professional Development:
Participate in online communities of practice
Attend webinars and workshops on online teaching strategies and instructional design
Collaborate with peers on interdisciplinary projects
