We are actively looking for a committed and meticulous Assistant Payroll Manager to become an integral part of our dynamic team. As a key player reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will spearhead the oversight and management of our company's payroll administration. Minimum Requirements:
Relevant Degree (Finance, HR, Payroll Specific)
3 or more years of experience in a supervisory role specific to payroll
Advanced Microsoft Office skills
Proficiency in PaySpace
Knowledge and experience in statutory requirements i.e., COIDA, SDL, UIF, SARS, and Unions
Duties and Responsibilities:
Process weekly wages from timesheets for all regions
Process monthly salaries for all regions
Generate wage batch summary reports and work on budgeted hours for the week
Capture all leave information
Prepare and submit payroll-related reports to HR and finance
Provide weekly man-hours versus budget reports with comments
Process IODs, update spreadsheets, and follow up on claims
Prepare bulk batches for auditing and import into PaySpace
Handle garnishees, ensuring accuracy, and facilitating payments to creditors
Manage UMOYA deductions, including reconciliation, obtaining the latest invoices and statements, and processing payments
Analyze site budgets, check registers for additional staff, and meet with Operations Managers weekly to discuss variances
Compile month-on-month budget reports indicating staff changes and associated values
Conduct regular audit checks on contracts, banking details, employee asset registers, and weekly reports to regions
Perform month-end auditing, including checks on component reports, site-specific allowances, PPE reports, and FD reports
Monitor and report on man-hours versus budget for management
Utilize costing sheets as budget references
Assist in the pay run process
Conduct ongoing auditing of personnel files and maintain filing systems
Ensure that payroll processes are fully compliant with relevant legislation and requirements pertaining to BCEA; SARS, Unions etc.
