Sound Engineer (JB115)

R37000 – R47000 per month neg
 
An exciting opportunity exists for a competent and knowledgeable Sound Engineer to record, mix and edit music and audio for productions. It is imperative to be technically minded as you would need to not only set up and operate but also maintain and repair the equipment.
 
You as the Sound Engineer will set up and operate the sound equipment at live events, recordings and post-productions to ensure the best acoustic results. We require an expert is using sensitive audio equipment and product quality sound. You should be knowledgeable on various audio recording and editing techniques. You Should possess a creative and technical mind with a very good ear.
 
Requirements:
Grade 12
Qualification related to sound/audio engineering or related field is highly recommended and an advantage
Proven experience as a sound engineer
Great passion for music and audio equipment
Technical expertise in sound engineering techniques
Experience with sound editing and recording equipment (SSL highly recommended and a major advantage)
Working knowledge of recording software and hardware
Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to deal with various personalities which would internal local and international musicians and recording artist etc.
Creativity and attention to detail
Excellent hearing and manual dexterity
Problem solving abilities
 
Responsibilities:
Follow instructions and details from Directors, Producers etc.
Set up, test, repair and maintain sound equipment before events, broadcasts or recordings etc.
Record, edit and mix audio (Instruments and audio etc.)
Enhance sound quality and add sound effects to recordings
Work with video editors to synchronize video and audio tracks
Play back tracks and special effects during live events
Collaborate with lighting, camera and other people
Create and maintain sound libraries
Resolve technical issues
