Senior Food Safety Technologist ( JB1257)

R35 000 CTC
 
Leading FMCG Manufacturing company in Cape Town is looking for a mature Senior Food Safety Technologist who can operate independently. The ideal candidate would hold a degree in food science or food technology, have extensive experience in FSSC and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in food safety management.
 
Key Responsibilities
Daily Management and maintenance of the entire food safety and quality system
Ensure:
All Document completion
Systems followed (food safety, hygiene, quality)
Policies and procedures followed
Conduct system upgrades on documents, policies, procedures where issues and gaps are detected  as per the BRC system and internal audits
Manage internal training programme and materials for staff on food safety, hygiene and quality
Manage staff roles in the food safety system (recruitment external and internal)
Monthly internal audit based on risk assessment: manage the process and closeout findings (Foreign object and traceability audits)
Run annual food safety audits (BRC, IBL)
Assist NPD with technical product launches and process improvements
 
Minimum requirements:
Minimum of 5 years experience in a food manufacturing environment (negotiable)
Minimum of 5 years senior food safety management experience (not negotiable)
BRC experience (negotiable)
FSSC experience (not negotiable)
HACCP or FSSC training through a recognised food safety organisation (not negotiable)
B-tech or degree in Food Science or Food technology (not negotiable)
Drivers licence and own transport
