DevOps Engineer (JB1564)
Parktown; Johannesburg
R65 000 - R75 000 CTC per Month
Inclusive of: Medical Aid, Pension

Overview
Experienced DevOps Engineer required to play a key role in driving the company’s “Always On / Always Available” strategy through cloud adoption and app modernisation. The role requires a hands-on approach ITO building automated CI/CD pipelines, facilitating test automation, keeping all digital applications on latest PaaS and cloud platforms – specifically Azure and AWS.
 
This role will give you the opportunity to work with and be mentored by the Cloud Engineering Lead who invests in his team.
 
Minimum Requirements:
Completed IT related degree
2-6 years’ experience within a DevOps/ Site Reliability Engineer role
Experience with Automation, CI/CD pipelines, Blue/Green Deployments
Knowledge and experience in building and managing cloud solutions in Azure, AWS, and O365
Ability to create and debug PowerShell scripts
Excellent understanding of Microsoft Technologies including Server 2012/2019, AD, AAD, DFS, DHCP, DNS, SAML
Understanding of APRA CPS234, PCI, ISO27001 and ASD Security Essentials
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
Be the “go to” person for where things are hosted and how they work within the Digital Platform
Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Digital Platform Availability and Delivery of changes and new applications
Manage cloud-based infrastructure, such as, AWS, API Gateways, Lambda Functions, Elastic BeanStack, Azure Web Apps, Azure SQL, IaaS VMs and others
Provide technical high-level system and process documentation as required.
Design and build Automated CI/CD Pipeline for Digital applications using Team City, GIT, Octopus Deploy, Azure DevOps, etc.
Drive the development of a mature and robust cloud hosting architecture
Drive efficiency and provide innovative cost-effective solutions and designs
Consistently deliver an outstanding level of service to the organisation through successfully participating in quality assurance and service delivery improvement programmes
Finding root causes for issues, resolving incidents, and acting on service requests
Effective management of key vendors to ensure maximum value from the relationship
