BI/BW QA Tester: SAP Hana (JB1137)
Location: Fully remote for candidates living in South Africa
Salary: Contractor R450.00 per hour | Permanent R65 - 72 000 per month
Duration: Permanent or Contract
 
Our client is a global IT Engineering Consulting firm whose services expand into the logistics, insurance, retail, banking, and telecommunications industries.
We are currently looking for a candidate to join their organisation in either a Contractor or Permanent capacity to engage in projects with their clients. Previous experience in the retail or logistics sector is preferred and candidates living outside of Cape Town must be willing to travel to Cape Town twice a month for a 1 - 2-day period.
The successful candidate will be required to perform testing activities for the implementation of business solutions, defect fixes and system enhancements for the Business Intelligence stream for a retail client.
Particular focus towards data quality and validity for a SAP BW system will require that the candidate has strong SQL skills and a good understanding of various data flows to also contribute innovative ways to enable efficient and reliable data testing services.
 
Responsibilities:
Responsible for validating the data sources, extraction of data, applying transformation logic, and loading the data in tables.
Working experience in ETL testing including Data Completeness and Data Quality for various data feeds coming from the source
Experience in Data Warehousing / BI Testing
Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases
Working experience with developers, support, offshore/onshore for various testing activities including test case/scriptwriting, clarification, data load, etc
Good understanding of various data models
Good knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts
Experience in creating Stored Procedures, Functions, Tables & handling big data
Experience on working of Joins, Subqueries, CTEs and complex query writing skills
Using data analytics tools to validate data such as Eclipse, SAP Analysis for Office
Advanced experience in Microsoft Excel
Extensive experience in writing and troubleshooting SQL Queries
Develop automated test scripts for testing ETL, Data warehouse and BI layers
Perform SQL validation to verify the data extracts in the database tables by writing SQL queries
Design and execute test cases to verify functionality, data integrity, security and overall usability of the solution
Provide Test Metrics, reports and schedules for Automation & Manual test activities
Work experience in SAP BW testing/development roles
Work experience with SAP HANA and SQL Server with advanced SQL skills
Experience in ERP systems
 
Qualifications:
Graduate/Postgraduate (BSc, or equivalent professional qualification) in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or related disciplines
 
Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate with senior executive level stakeholders
