We are seeking a Junior Field Technician with specialized knowledge in secondary plant protection, focusing on relays, circuit breakers, transformers, and cables. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our technical systems.

Minimum Requirements:
National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Certifications in Electrical or Electronics Technology
Sound technical knowledge
Solution-oriented problem-solving abilities
Proficiency in producing drawing programs, schedules, design checklists, maintenance manuals, etc.
Ability to work effectively under pressure
Strong report submission skills
Proficiency in testing methods
Knowledge of health and safety procedures, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act
A sense of responsibility for equipment and vehicles used
Strong budgeting and cost control chart management skills
Effective project coordination capabilities
Exceptional client relations skills
A valid driver's license and willingness to travel when required

Duties and Responsibilities:
Specialized Knowledge: Possess in-depth expertise in secondary plant protection, including relays, circuit breakers, transformers, and cables
Testing Methodology: Maintain and enhance testing methods in compliance with relevant regulations, divisional procedures, and company standards
Design and Cost Control: Create design cost-control charts and monitor/report on performance while ensuring the completion of work undertaken
Multi-Discipline Coordination: Facilitate the liaison of multi-discipline requirements with all involved parties
Documentation: Produce drawing programs, schedules, design checklists, maintenance manuals, and working and record drawings
Client and Project Liaison: Liaise with clients, manufacturers, and project teams on all matters related to company/client design
Contract Management: Effectively manage contract variations while controlling costs and meeting targets
Health and Safety: Communicate with staff on multi-discipline contracts, and possess a thorough knowledge of health and safety regulations and the Occupational Health and Safety Act
National Travel: As this role is national, travel may be required, with an emphasis on cost-efficiency
Engineering Support: Provide engineering support and advice to other departments within the company
Compliance: Ensure that statutory, regulatory, and commercial requirements in the delivery of technical services, with a focus on safety, environmental, and business continuity obligations, are met. Ensure contract operations fully comply with client and company policies, and that the team is adequately trained to fulfill their responsibilities
Budget Management: Ensure commissioning and services stay within budget and assist in the development of capital budgets to meet business objectives
Supply Chain Oversight: Monitor performance and cost-effectiveness of the supply chain and department
Project Coordination: Ensure that projects are coordinated with the relevant technical input
Reporting: Provide reports in line with contract reporting procedures
Training and Coaching: Review and advise on training and coaching support based on individual personal development plans and company practices
Customer Service: Promote a culture of exceptional customer service
Time Management: Maintain a daily timesheet
Ad Hoc Administrative Duties: Perform miscellaneous administrative tasks as needed
