A prominent industry leader is actively searching for a seasoned Operations Manager specializing in Fuel, Retail, and Food management. The role involves supervising numerous locations, which comprise various store formats, including franchised brands such as Retail outlets, Quick-service restaurants, Supermarkets, and Filling stations. The primary responsibilities of this position include nurturing relationships with franchisees, ensuring ongoing effective management, and expanding the national network of Fuel, Retail, and Food establishments.

Minimum Requirements:
B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in business administration, Management, Operations, or a related field
Specialized certifications or courses in franchising, contract law, negotiation, and human resources management
8 to 10 years experience in a leadership role within the retail, franchise, or food service industry, ideally in a multi-unit or regional management capacity
Proven experience in negotiating and securing contracts
Familiarity with labor laws and experience in handling disciplinary hearings and CCMA cases
In-depth knowledge of franchise operations, including compliance, brand standards, and key performance indicators
Strong marketing and branding expertise to increase brand awareness and engagement
Financial analysis and budget management skills to introduce profit-driven initiatives and optimize GP margins
Strong computer literacy
Advances Point of Sale System experience
Willingness to travel throughout the KwaZulu-Natal Region

Duties and Responsibilities:
Negotiate and secure profitable contracts
Handle disciplinary hearings and CCMA cases
Manage multiple regions/sites
Improve existing operations and turn around failing businesses
Expand into new market segments
Increase brand awareness and engagement
Introduce profit-driven initiatives for new revenue streams
Build a network of supportive franchisees
Standardize supplier, contractor, and costing specifications for national food brands
Implement promotional strategies, operational manuals, and food training programs
Focus on customer service excellence
Ensure franchisee performance meets key performance indicators (KPIs)
Maintain brand compliance
Recruit and train staff
Launch stores and select sites
Optimize GP margins for franchises through various strategies
Manage various back-end areas including P&L, marketing, inventory, health & safety, and more
Lead retail outlet launches, openings, and conversions
Implement inspections, audits, and online training programs
Evaluate franchisee performance, drive product innovation, and manage sales budgets and brand activities
Advise on financial and operational areas such as merchandising, expenses, store layouts, and procurement
