Overview
A well-established company that specializes in importing and selling long and flat steel bulk products to industries in South Africa is currently seeking a highly skilled individual for the position of Steel Product Sales/Coordinator and Marketing Manager. In this role, you will work closely with the Branch General Manager to create and pursue potential business opportunities in South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa. Your responsibilities will include managing correspondence, providing sales support in the local and Sub-Saharan regional market, and reporting on potential business ventures within the region.
Minimum Requirements:
Tertiary education
Diploma and / or Degree in relevant field (Sales / Engineering)
More than five years working experience in steel products industry.
Must be fully computer literate especially MS office suite programs and Microsoft outlook.
Preferably experience in the steel product trading industry in the Sub-Sahara trading environment.
Extensive B2B Experience
Experience and Knowledge of Import/export and Incoterms 2000.
Experience and Knowledge of trade finance products.
Experienced in working with foreigners
Duties and Responsibilities:
Checking market conditions for steel industry Pricing / Shipping / Suppliers news / Customers news / General relevant market news (S&P, SteelOrbis etc)
Checking and following-up on existing shipments’ progress and variances.
Checking and following-up on existing / potential business orders.
Communication with customers about negotiation points.
Tracking and controlling shipping documents for customs clearing processes.
Responding to enquiries from customers about volumes / pricing / dates of material for shipment.
Assisting with deal structuring, pricing and trade finance issues on orders.
Visiting customers to maintain relationships and clear and dispute or problem points.
Sourcing new Business opportunities.
Arranging and escorting overseas suppliers or overseas head-office visitor delegations on trips around SA.
Preparing reports on any business meetings.
Managing office functionality – eg .IT network/office cleanliness/motor vehicle maintenance
Assisting Overseas Head-Office staff with any local administration or residence problems
Inventory counts take place over weekends
