NOC IT Technician (JB3715)

R15 - 25 000 per month, CTC

As a NOC Technician, you will be at the forefront of monitoring and troubleshooting network issues, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity, and playing a crucial role in keeping businesses and individuals connected.

Shifts Rotation, depending on requirements:
08 Hour Shift: 06:00 - 14:00, 14:00 - 22:00 and 22:00-06:00
12 Hour Shift: 06:00 - 18:00 and 18:00 - 06:00

Minimum Requirements:
Relevant experience or qualifications
Minimum of an A+ N+ Qualification
Experience performing daily system monitoring and health checks for various products (i.e., network, security, etc.)
Triaging alerts and reporting incidents
Examining real traffic and associated artifacts: malicious, normal, and application traffic and demonstrate the ability to differentiate malicious traffic from false positives
Correlate data points and determine if an event or incident (i.e., security or network) has occurred
Experience with up-to-date security best practices and hardening as it relates to protecting enterprise environments from the latest threat landscape
Understanding of how DNS works for both legitimate and malicious purposes
Understanding network protocols and traffic flow in an enterprise environment

Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitor Dashboards and Ticketing Systems.
Review alarm activity and notify appropriate parties.
Respond immediately to issues and/or escalate them when appropriate.
Remotely resolves issues.
Troubleshoot ATM/alarm calls and Camera Surveillance.
Performs daily, manual status checks.
Keep existing NOC Systems and Tools up to date with current and vetted patches
Maintain knowledge of recent patches and updates to NOC Systems and Tools
Review and update Policies and Procedures for NOC Systems and Tools on a regular basis
Maintain configurations of NOC Systems and Tools and ensure standard configurations are maintained with best practices in mind
Bring up any Critical Issue with NOC Systems and Tools that may cause damage to the Business, be it client or Sourcepass
Assist other NOC Teams with escalations & questions for NOC systems
Assist Manager/Lead with the creation of automation to solve NOC-related problems
Assist and/or champion the implementation of new systems within the NOC
Assist and/or champion the migration of systems from acquisitions into the NOC.

Shifts are scheduled into various 12-hour shifts as the NOC is
operational 24/7.
