Great opportunity for a technical KUBERNETES PLATFORM ENGINEER with a LINUX CERTIFICATION, to manage and maintain Linux platforms and assist in automation of Kubernetes environments.This KUBERNETES PLATFORM ENGINEER role is based in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town and is offering R600K. Hybrid role.The Company:
JSE listed financial services firm. South Africa's largest insurance company.The Role:
60% BAU and 40% project/new work.
Operational support is key and Standby and after-hours support expected.
Manage & maintain Linux platforms.
Work with Linux advance implementations.
Assist in implementing, managing and configuration of environment, platform, and application monitoring.
Assisting in the constant automation and configuration of the Kubernetes environments.The Requirements:

  • National Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in IT.
  • LINUX Certification.
  • 2+ years' experience as ADVANCED LINUX USER.
  • Scripting experience.
  • RedHat JBoss EAP (or Wildfly).
  • Experience with integration of web-based services and practical use of APIs, REST and SOAP services.
  • Exposure to containerization concepts and technology (ie Docker).
  • KUBERNETES operations & admin experience.
  • Exposure to application configuration management tooling including the following (or similar) is advantageous - Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Foreman, Rundeck, Redis, Graylog, Harbor.
