This technical Kubernetes Support position offers the opportunity for a Linux advanced user with Kubernetes & Rancher experience to gain in-depth knowledge of Kubernetes operations, and the opportunity to deepen expertise in Linux systems.Based in Cape Town, this Kubernetes Support Engineer position is offering R600 000 to R750 000.The Company:

This is a technical Kubernetes support position. This is for an Individual with Linux Certification and Kubernetes experience and some Coding background. Operational support is key and Standby and after-hours support will be expected.Key Responsibilities:
Provide operational support for Kubernetes and Linux systems, including standby and after-hours assistance.
Manage and maintain Linux platforms to ensure stability and high performance.
Assist in the implementation, management, and configuration of monitoring tools for environments and applications.
Drive automation initiatives within Kubernetes environments.
Document best practices, methodologies, and tooling for deployment, DevOps, and configuration management.
Work with advanced Linux implementations and hardware-configured environments.
Manage tooling obsolescence through roadmaps, patches, and upgrades.Minimum Requirements:
Qualifications:

• Grade 12/Matric
• Tertiary qualification in Information Technology
• Linux Certification is a MUST.

• 2-5 years in Information Technology
• 2-5 years of operational support experience
• 2 years as an advanced Linux user
• Exposure to scripting

• Proficiency in RedHat JBoss EAP or Wildfly.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Rancher is a MUST.
• Familiarity with APIs (REST and SOAP) and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or similar.
• Understanding of containerization concepts, including Docker and Kubernetes operations.
• Knowledge of integration between various application components (e.g., directory services, databases, load balancers).
