Job Description

To assist in the administration and operation of the company's computer labs. The primary responsibilities will include maintaining lab equipment, supporting students with technical issues, and ensuring a productive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:



Lab Supervision & Student Assistance:

o Monitor and oversee daily computer lab activities, ensuring students adhere to lab policies and procedures.

o Assist students with troubleshooting common software and hardware issues.

o Provide one-on-one tutorial assistance to students who need help with basic computing tasks, software applications, and navigating the institution's digital resources.

o Guide new students in accessing the college's computing resources and developing fundamental computer skills.

Technical Support & Maintenance:

o Perform installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer hardware, software, and network infrastructure within the lab environment.

o Ensure that all systems are up to date with security patches, antivirus protection, and necessary software updates.

o Report and escalate unresolved technical issues to the onsite technicians or IT support team.

o Maintain an inventory of lab equipment and ensure proper documentation of system configurations.

Reporting & Documentation:

o Compile reports regarding lab usage, common technical issues, and recommendations for improvements.

o Provide feedback to the IT Manager regarding recurring student challenges and lab functionality.

o Assist in maintaining records of software licenses and lab assets.

o Lab Environment & Compliance:

o Ensure a conducive and orderly lab environment that promotes effective learning.

o Enforce lab policies and procedures to maintain security, safety, and accessibility for all users.

o Follow institutional IT policies and ensure compliance with cybersecurity and data protection standards.

Other Duties:

o Assist IT technicians in ad-hoc tasks related to lab administration and IT support.

o Provide basic training sessions on software applications and digital literacy as needed.

o Support faculty with IT-related requirements during lab-based teaching sessions.

Skills & Qualifications:



Educational Requirements:

Completed BSc in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent qualification.

Technical Skills:



Strong understanding of PC hardware, software applications, and operating systems (Windows/Linux/macOS).

Basic knowledge of networking, troubleshooting techniques, and cybersecurity best practices.

Familiarity with database management, office productivity suites (Microsoft Office/Google Workspace), and student management systems.

Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently.

Soft Skills:



Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to assist students with varying levels of technical proficiency.

Strong problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to addressing issues.

Ability to administer the lab without constant supervision and work independently.

High level of integrity, work ethic, and commitment to supporting student success
