Job Description


Our client within the Agricultural Sector (Animal Production) is looking to appoint a Laboratory Manager for their branch in Bloemfontein. Excellent opportunity in a world class facility.

  • B.Sc Agric (Animal Production) with the following modules: Animal Breeding studies, Animal Production, Animal Nutrition, Laboratory Studies
  • Min 3 years' Laboratory experience
  • Veterinary experience will be advantageous
  • Leadership skills, good health (physical work), must be prepared to work overtime and shifts
  • Any work and duties contained in the Standard Operating Procedures of the bull station, including but not limited to:
  • Administration and execution of semen production orders, records and invoicing
  • Administration surrounding semen straw storage
  • All Technical and laboratory work of the bull station and any other tasks that might be delegated to the employee by the directors of the company.
  • Client liaison
  • Lab Management
  • Collection, evaluation, freezing of animal DNA
Analysis, evaluation of DNA chips * Total control of all facets in lab, orders, cleanliness, client liaison, vet liaison
  • Animal health, adjusting feeding programs, controlling weight loss/gain
  • Excellent opportunity in a world class facility in Free State area
