Job Overview:
As the Landscape Maintenance Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing all operations within your assigned portfolio.
This diverse portfolio includes a mix of residential and commercial estates, requiring a strong focus on the upkeep of gardens, cleaning and hygiene, and building maintenance.
Your responsibilities will include strategic planning, team leadership, and fostering client relationships to ensure the highest standards of property care and satisfaction.
Minimum Requirements:
Education and Qualifications:
Diploma or degree in horticulture, landscaping, facilities management, or a related field.
Relevant certifications in grounds maintenance, project management, or health and safety (advantageous).
Experience
:
At least 3-5 years of experience in landscape maintenance, groundskeeping, or property management.
Proven experience in managing diverse portfolios, including both residential and commercial properties.
Demonstrated experience in leading teams and managing staff performance.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong knowledge of horticulture, irrigation systems, pest management, and sustainable landscaping practices.
Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
Strong leadership and team management abilities, with the capacity to motivate and mentor staff.
Outstanding client relationship management and communication skills.
Ability to manage budgets, plan resources, and oversee operational logistics.
Technical Requirements:
Proficiency in using tools and software for scheduling, reporting, and property management.
Basic understanding of building maintenance, cleaning protocols, and hygiene standards.

Operations Management:
Oversee daily maintenance activities, including gardening, landscaping, cleaning, and building upkeep.
Conduct routine site inspections to ensure all properties meet company quality standards.
Plan and allocate resources (staff, tools, and materials) efficiently for scheduled tasks.
Team Supervision and HR Duties
Assign tasks and provide clear instructions to team members.
Monitor staff performance and provide on-the-job training or mentoring as needed.
Conduct daily briefings or toolbox talks to align the team on priorities and safety measures.
Manage employee schedules, time sheets, and attendance records.
Address staff grievances or conflicts promptly and escalate when necessary.
Support recruitment efforts by identifying staffing needs and assisting with interviews and onboarding.
Ensure compliance with labor laws, health and safety regulations, and company HR policies.
Promote a positive workplace culture by encouraging teamwork, communication, and employee engagement.
Client Relations Communicate with clients to address concerns, updates, or specific requests.
Maintain strong professional relationships to ensure client satisfaction.
Provide regular progress updates to clients or property owners.
Attend monthly trustees / directors meetings
Maintenance and Repairs
Oversee the upkeep of gardens, including mowing, pruning, fertilizing, and pest control.
Ensure proper maintenance of irrigation systems and other landscaping equipment.
Coordinate minor repairs and address any issues related to building maintenance.
Administration
Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports on completed tasks, staff attendance, and resource usage.
Track inventory and coordinate the procurement of supplies and equipment.
Ensure compliance with budgets for daily operations.
Problem-Solving
Respond promptly to unexpected challenges, such as weather-related disruptions or equipment failures.
Develop solutions to improve workflows and resolve client or team issues effectively.
