Closing Date: 16/08/2024The purpose of this role is to establish and maintain a best-in-class logistics network and operation, which includes warehousing, distribution, transport (primary and secondary, inbound, outbound, and customer deliveries), returnable management, and import/export. The role aims to foster a culture of continuous improvement within the Supply Chain Customer Service & Logistics (CS&L) by applying Total Productive Management (TPM) to design, develop, and implement capabilities that support the Supply Chain strategy and objectives, focusing on safety, service, savings, and sustainability. It ensures operations meet the highest standards of safety, cost efficiency, and optimal customer service, including maintaining excellent Cost to Serve (CTS) metrics and Customer Fill Rate (CFR).Key Responsibilities:1. Strategy Development and Implementation

  • Provide input into development of the Customer Service & Logistics strategy and ensure alignment to supply chain and corporate strategies in line with Heineken group principles.
2. TPM/Continuous Improvement and Capability
  • Ensure the set-up and implementation of the CSL Pillars, its strategy and control systems, and support the Pillar Leads and improvement teams according to TPM methodology.
  • Responsible for internal and external benchmarking and best practice driving continuous improvement and a best-in-class CSL operation.
  • Identify and execute performance improvement initiatives.
  • Design, Develop and deploy capability to ensure effective and efficient E2E network and operations.
  • Create and support a high-performance culture across central and broader logistics teams.
  • Follow Heineken Beverages' policies and procedures and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
3. Project Management
  • The ability to develop, lead and manage large project plans, track plan and costs, identify and minimise risks and meet the timelines and cost
  • Ensure application of and compliance with Project Management Methodology.
  • Facilitate the introduction of relevant technology to the business to improve overall cost and operational efficiency.
  • Facilitate execution of relevant Heineken Beverages Operating Systems projects and initiatives.
4. Compliance & Governance
  • Ensure Logistics policies, procedures, and ISO application is adhered to.
  • Work with P&CI in audit readiness and reporting
  • BWISE, Heiquest, ICC tracking and reporting
  • Act as the custodian of Logistics CAPEX requirements.
  • Drive BBBEE Enterprise Development Audit.
5. Network Design & Optimisation
  • Ensure optimal Logistics Infrastructure and assets.
  • Develop and maintain optimal deployment network in line with seasonality and Peak Planning
  • Ensure sufficient warehouses and optimal design and layout of warehouses to meet current and future capacity requirements.
  • Design and implement planning systems for inbound materials, deployment, reverse logistics, Import and Exports.
  • Optimize planning and network design for returnable material and Import and Export material.
6. Management Reporting
  • The ability to report CSL performance in line with global reporting standards/ and/or local requirements.
  • Monthly tracking on key objectives & Improvements are done in a clear and comprehensive way to support decision making.
  • The ability to effectively incorporate the financial impact of strategic, tactical and operational decisions
7. Operating Model Optimisation
  • Make recommendations on Organizational structure and headcount
  • Manage Third party supplier identification and management with the assistance of Procurement.
8. Relationship & Stakeholder Management
  • Cross functional stakeholder management setting up and leading Customers Service, Logistics, Safety communities enabling best practice sharing, alignment on key objectives and programmes.
  • Manage business relationship and SLA performance of business units.
  • Foster productive Internal and External stakeholder relationships.
9. People Leader
  • Lead a team of highly skilled Specialists to lead the continuous improvement, build on TPM principles and capability strategy for CSL
Job Requirements: Qualification and Experience
  • Minimum qualification: A relevant industrial engineering degree or equivalent.
  • At least 10 years managerial relevant business experience, of which 5 years should be at senior management level.
  • Experience on established project management methodology.
  • Proven people leadership ability and experience in building a high-performance team and a team player.
  • Excellent business acumen - acute awareness cost management and people efficiency.
  • Experience developing performance metrics, process design and improvement, problem solving techniques and statistical analysis.
  • Deep analytical skills with a proven ability to interpret financial and statistical data.
  • Experience with conducting benchmarking and establishing best practise.
  • Transport Management knowledge and experience including relevant legislation.
  • Experienced in Warehouse design, Layout and Flow.
  • Previous experience in managing large scale development projects end to end is advantageous.
  • Previous experience in continuous improvement methodologies i.e., TPM, LSS is advantageous.
  • Computer literacy (MS Office & SAP packages) xefx82xb7 Excellent communication skills (written and verbal.
