Title Lead: Marketing CommunicationJOB PURPOSEAltron is seeking a Lead: Marketing Communications with a proven track record for creative excellence in strategic program development and execution. Your overall goal will be to improve employee and customer engagement and drive industry awareness of the Altron and Netstar brands to current and prospective customers, competitors, trade and business media, industry analysts and other key constituents.Altron is a proudly South African technology group. The Altron group of companies comprises of three segments: platforms, IT services and distribution. The Group is in the process of simplifying its operating model and shifting its strategy to drive transformative growth.The Marketing Centre of Excellence and structures required to support this shift are in their infancy and everything from the brand itself to the underlying policies and processes which govern Altrons approach to employee, customer and market engagement are being rethought and reimagined. Simply put we need your help to provide a Marketing Communications Centre of Excellence service to the Altron Group.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Strategy Development:Conduct a thorough analysis of Altrons current communications landscape across all operating companies (internal communications, customer communications, public relations, investor relations and social media).Develop and implement a communications strategy that will deliver on the key business objectives.Develop strategic paid media plan to support and boost earned media presence.Oversee and allocate the annual communications budget and ensure its use is fully maximised.Use communications technology to boost productivity.Media Relations - work with the appointed PR agency to:Develop and manage relationships with key media players to secure and grow earned media online and offline coverage.Craft and distribute press releases and media pitches.Coordinate and manage media interviews and inquiries.Identify, pitch and leverage speaking opportunities.Clean-up and maintain press portals across third party sites.Maintain press portal on Altron WebsiteInvestor Relations - work with the appointed PR agency to:Support the Investor Relations team with the execution of all external communications required. This includes but is not limited to - key message development, Q&A development, executive coaching, managing press tour etc.Content Creation and management:Create and maintain content calendar for internal communications, customer communications, public relations, investor relations and social media.Maintain corporate collateral and proof points across the group using our in-house design and writing resources.Manage the development of compelling content for the various channels using our in-house design and writing resources.Ensure content aligns with the overall communications strategy and brand messaging.Social Media Management - work with the appointed PR agency to:Provide community management across all Altrons channels.Leverage in-house shared service ensure all content is scheduled for publication.Monitor activity and consult on opportunities and ways to engage with communities.Create and manage executive profiling across the various Executives for the Group - this includes a monthly content calendar crafted for the executive in line with Group content strategy.Crisis Management - work with the appointed PR agency toDevelop a crisis communication plan.Provide real-time support and guidance during crises.Reporting and Analysis:Generate regular reports on PR campaign performance.Analyse data and provide insights for continuous improvement.Team Management:Provide Leadership, guidance, and direction to the team responsible for marketing communications.Set clear expectations, goals, and objectives for team members, aligning them with departmental and organizational objectives.Conduct regular performance reviews and one-on-one meetings with team members to provide feedback, address performance issues, and recognize achievements.Mentor and coach team members, fostering their professional growth and development through regular feedback, training, and performance evaluations.Hold team members accountable for meeting quality standards, deadlines, and compliance requirements in financial reporting activities.Allocate responsibilities and workload effectively among team members, considering their strengths, expertise, and workload capacity.Identify opportunities for skill development and cross-training to enhance team effectiveness and resilience.Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, promoting open communication, transparency, and knowledge sharing.Foster a positive and supportive team culture that values diversity, collaboration, and innovation.Lead the team through periods of change, such as process improvements, system implementations, or organizational restructuring.Communicate change initiatives effectively, addressing concerns, and soliciting feedback from team members to ensure buy-in and successful implementation.Support team members in adapting to new processes, tools, or roles, providing training and resources as needed to facilitate a smooth transition.COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:Internal:Chief Marketing OfficerBU Marketing HeadsBU Marketing CommunityGroup Executives, including the company CE.OpCo Managing DirectorsInternal AgenciesSales Management and TeamsBU product management/marketingChannel ManagementSupport Functions -
