Purpose of Role




AGGP_SA is looking for a highly strategic and results-driven professional to take on the role of Lead: Strategy, Planning & Organisational Performance. This pivotal role, reporting directly to the CEO, is responsible for shaping, driving, and monitoring the organisation's strategic direction, operational planning, and performance management. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, facilitation, and leadership skills to ensure strategic alignment with AGGP_Africa Group's goals and strengthens our impact in the entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Objectives of Role



Strategy Formulation & Execution:




Develop and institutionalise AGGP_SA's strategy formulation framework, ensuring alignment with AGGP_Africa Group's goals. Facilitate strategic planning sessions with the Board and CEO to define the organisation's long-term vision, goals, and impact. Conduct in-depth analysis of economic, industry, and internal data to inform evidence-based strategic decision-making. Collaborate with the Digital Transformation team to drive automation and digitization of strategic management processes. Provide thought leadership to position AGGP_SA as a key player in the entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Organisational Planning:




Develop and oversee the execution of AGGP_SA's strategic and operational planning processes. Facilitate business unit-level planning to ensure vertical and horizontal alignment with the overall strategy. Partner with Finance to integrate financial planning with strategic objectives. Work with Communications & Convening teams to organize high-impact strategy sessions across leadership levels. Establish and maintain planning methodologies, frameworks, and tools to enhance strategic clarity and execution.

Performance Management

& Accountability:




Design and implement a robust organisational performance management framework. Partner with HR to align business strategy with individual performance management. Oversee monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of organisational performance metrics (KPIs/OKRs). Facilitate regular reviews of business unit performance, ensuring evidence-based decision-making. Manage documentation and reporting of performance outcomes for EXCO and the Board.

Data-Driven Insights & Reporting:




Develop and implement data collection, analysis, and reporting mechanisms for strategic decision-making. Synthesize research, environmental scans, and impact evaluations to inform AGGP_SA's strategic direction. Prepare quarterly and annual performance reports for the CEO and Board of Trustees.

Financial & Budgetary Oversight:




Develop and manage the annual operational budget for the strategy and planning function. Monitor financial performance to ensure alignment with organisational strategy.

Experience and Qualifications



Honours Degree (NQF Level 9) in Strategy, Business, Economics, or a related field. Up to 10 years in strategy development, organisational planning, or performance management.
