Description





The Technical Authoring Manager oversees the technical authoring team, aligning documentation strategies with organizational goals. This role requires strategic leadership, fostering a culture of excellence, and ensuring the delivery of clear, accurate, and comprehensive Help and Reference documentation.###

Key Responsibilities





Manage the Technical Authoring team, including recruitment, training, and performance reviews. Establish and enforce documentation standards, quality assurance processes, and style guidelines. Review and assist in the delivery of Help documentation; including holistic capability guides, help and reference content, troubleshooting content, release notes, as well as configuration and installation manuals. Align documentation initiatives with broader company strategies, leveraging analytics to optimize content usability. Build and maintain relationships with cross-functional teams to support product and content development. Provide mentorship and guidance to authoring team members, promoting skills development and a collaborative environment

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise





Essential / Minimum Qualification


Minimum: Senior Certificate or NQF4 equivalent o Beneficial: Degree or Diploma in Communications, Journalism, or related field.



Essential Experience


Minimum Experience: 7+ years in technical writing, with at least 2 years in a senior, leadership or management role. Minimum: Experience with team management, content analytics, and strategic alignment of documentation with business goals. Minimum: 4 years' experience with ERP systems or software development lifecycles (SDLC) Beneficial: Proficiency in high-level documentation planning, UX writing, information architecture, and advanced content management systems (e.g., DITA XML, Confluence, Flare).
