Dis-Chem Pharmacies' in Midrand has an opportunity available for a Learning and Development Manager to join the HR team. The main purpose of this role will be to lead the delivery of Dis-Chem's Retail, DC & Security learning and development (L&D) strategy to ensure the growth and sustainability of organisational talent. Operational delivery of the learning initiatives aligned with the organisation's business objectives and global best practices. The Learning Manager will drive learning programmes' design, implementation, and evaluation, ensuring they meet the organisation's current and future capability needs. Additionally, the Learning Manager will foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development.Minimum Requirementsxe2x80xa6Essential:

  • Tertiary Qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years learning and development experience
  • 3 Years Managerial experience

Job Specification...Strategic Learning & Development Leadership:
  • Lead the implementation of Dis-Chem's learning and development strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and priorities.
  • Provide direction to the Learning Partners and other key stakeholders to ensure the delivery of impactful learning solutions.
  • Act as a thought leader in learning and development, bringing innovative ideas and best practices to the organisation.
  • Leverage technology to create and manage an integrated learning ecosystem, incorporating eLearning, mLearning, and other cutting-edge digital tools.
Governance and Compliance:
  • Ensure that all learning and development activities align with Dis-Chem's learning and development governance framework, adhering to relevant policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Regularly review and update the Dis-Chem learning and development governance framework to reflect current business needs, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Educate and guide internal and external stakeholders on Dis-Chem's learning and development policies and procedures to ensure consistent application and understanding thereof.
  • Ensure compliance with national regulations, including (but not limited to) BBBEE, skills development legislation, and other relevant labour laws.
  • Maintain strong relationships with Sector Education and Training Authorities (SETAs), the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO), and other regulatory bodies to ensure adherence to sector-specific requirements.
  • Oversee the compliance of learning vendors and external partners with organisational, sectoral, and national learning and development standards.
  • Prepare and submit all required compliance-related reports, such as BBBEE scorecards and SETA documentation, to relevant authorities and stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Review BBBEE scoring results, partner with relevant stakeholders, identify areas of improvement and compile action plans to ensure continued improvement.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to non-compliance in learning and development, ensuring the organisation remains fully compliant with applicable laws and regulations.
Learning Needs Analysis:
  • Lead the annual Learning Needs Analysis (LNA) process in Retail, DC & Security ensuring alignment with talent development, succession planning, and strategic business objectives and capability needs.
  • Validate and prioritise development needs in consultation with relevant stakeholders, ensuring they align with current and future organisational capability requirements.
  • Ensure the continuous improvement of the LNA process through monitoring, feedback, and industry benchmarking.
Learning Solution Design & Development:
  • Oversee the design, development and curation of blended learning solutions that are innovative, scalable, and aligned with Dis-Chem's values and strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (including relevant governing bodies) to ensure learning solutions are fit-for-purpose and within budget.
  • Lead the design of relevant talent pipeline programmes (e.g. trainee managers) to proactively address organisational talent needs.
  • Lead the design of comprehensive onboarding solutions and processes.
  • Evaluate and enhance the quality of learning solutions to ensure they deliver measurable business outcomes.
Learning Delivery:
  • Manage the effective and efficient delivery of all learning programmes, ensuring they are delivered on time within scope and budget.
  • Oversee the implementation of critical programmes such as Learnerships, Internships, Graduate and talent pipeline programmes.
  • Ensure the consistency and quality of learning delivery.
Learning Evaluation:
  • Implement a comprehensive evaluation framework to assess the effectiveness of learning initiatives.
  • Analyse learning evaluation data to measure the impact of learning on organisational performance and provide recommendations for improvement based on thematic insights.
  • Report the impact of learning initiatives to relevant senior stakeholders, highlighting successes and areas for development.
Stakeholder Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including HR leaders, business units, and external partners.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration between the learning function and other parts of the business.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to management and senior leadership on all matters related to learning and development and drive continued focus on leveraging learning and development initiatives to build a high-performance culture throughout the organisation.
Reporting & Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with B-BBEE and Skills Development requirements and offer appropriate guidance and education on learning and development to internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of all learning activities, including compliance with SETA, BBBEE, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the administration and accurate data management of all learning initiatives to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and quality standards.
  • Provide comprehensive monthly reports, highlighting key learning metrics and related insights. Leverage data and analytics to inform talent decisions and measure the impact of learning initiatives.
  • Contribute to consolidating and submitting the Workplace Skills Plans (WSP) and Annual Training Reports (ATR) for the Dis-Chem Group.
Budget Management:
  • Manage and oversee the annual learning and development budget for Retail, DC and Security ensuring alignment with the organisation's financial objectives and strategic priorities.
  • Monitor and control expenditures, ensuring all learning initiatives are delivered within budget and provide maximum return on investment.
  • Partner with Finance and other relevant departments to ensure accurate budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for all learning and development activities.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and make recommendations for more efficient use of resources without compromising the quality of learning solutions offered.
  • Ensure transparency and accountability in the management of learning and development funds.
Continued Professional Development:
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in learning and development.
  • Encourage and support the professional development of the Learning Partners and other team members.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the organisation.
People Leadership:
  • Provide inspirational leadership and direction to the Learning Partners, fostering a high-performance culture within the team.
  • Develop and mentor team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and opportunities for growth to excel in their roles.
  • Regularly review Learning Partner performance and set clear objectives and development plans for each team member.
