Job Description


Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Must have a tertiary qualification in Human Resources or related field
  • Minimum 3 years experience in Learning and Development
  • Must have proven experience in skills gap analysis and the development of training programs
  • Relevant experience in retail, FMCG, pharmaceutical, or wholesale environments is essential
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to travel locally when required
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Identifying and assessing the training needs of the business through needs/skills gap analysis, career pathing, and engagement with managers.
  • Developing and implementing training initiatives across the business to build people capabilities that support career development, succession planning, talent development, and leadership programs.
  • Managing training activities to ensure efficient and cost-effective adherence to policies and targets.
  • Handling learning requirements from management and the business, aligning with the L&D budget, and ensuring effective learning delivery.
  • Implementing learnerships and graduate programs.
  • Partnering with managers and subject matter experts to assess training needs, determine development interventions, and propose implementation projects.
  • Applying L&D practices by staying abreast of industry trends (FMCG, Pharmacy, and Logistics) and legislative requirements.
  • Making recommendations to the business by identifying trends and providing feedback on success factors, risks, and gaps.
  • Assisting in the accurate delivery of the learning curriculum to increase performance and deliver a return on investment.
  • Partnering with Learning Administrators to ensure successful training coordination and delivery for delegates attending training.
  • Staying informed about all learning work-back obligations and processes for Internships, Learnerships, and Graduate programs.
  • Providing input into learning policies, practices, and annual budget preparations.
  • Tracking the ROI (Return on Investment) on all programs and compiling reports when required.
  • Developing collaborative relationships throughout the business to support the growth and strategic objectives of the company.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders through consultation, understanding their requirements, and accommodating their needs.
  • Gathering manager feedback and evaluating employee readiness to identify appropriate training interventions.
  • Capturing and consolidating all assigned training information for SETA, BBBEE, and other compliance reports.
  • Building strong relationships with the skills development facilitator to ensure compliance.
  • Administering Learnerships, Internships, and Graduate programs within the organization to ensure compliance with SETA requirements.
  • Consolidating and submitting comprehensive monthly training reports to Managers and Senior Managers.
  • Adhering to company Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Adhering to Health and Safety rules and regulations.
