Job Description


To negotiate and conclude the best deal for the bank on any of its accommodation in order to maintain and grow the Nedbank footprint; while minimising risk to the bank.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure that lease agreements are negotiated at market related rentals, escalations and conditions by conducting market surveys.
  • Ensure leases are renewed timeously so as to avoid putting the bank at risk by extracting the renewals diary and ensuring the options are exercised within the Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Maintain good relationships with internal stakeholders by understanding and implementing the Nedbank strategy.
  • Build and maintain a good relationship with external stakeholders by using negotiation and people skills that foster good relationships.
  • Ensure that all leasing queries are addressed within specified timeframes by attending to them appropriately and timeously.
  • Facilitate the communication between stakeholders to ensure a smooth workflow by mediating all communication between internal and external stakeholders.
  • Vet leases by checking if the terms and conditions comply with set standards before forwarding them to the Regional Leasing Manager
  • Ensure consistency of agreements by submitting lease agreements to the RLM (Regional Leasing Manager) who shall present to legal department for validation.
  • Comply with risk standards by ensuring that leasing workflow processes are followed and specific instructions are addressed.
  • Obtain board approval prior to concluding lease agreements by forwarding the unsigned leases to the board for vetting and approval.
  • Check and witness lease agreements by signing as a witness as and when requested.
  • Ensure that leasing information is correctly captured on databases to ensure that rentals are paid correctly by checking the data captured on the systems.
  • Keep abreast of legislation and other industry changes that impacts on role by reading the relevant newsletters, websites and attending sessions.
  • Understand and embrace the Nedbank vision and demonstrate the values through interaction with team and stakeholders.
  • Improve personal capability and stay abreast of developments in field of expertise by identifying training courses and career progression for self through input and feedback from managers
  • Ensure personal growth and enable effectiveness in performance of roles and responsibilities by ensuring all learning activities are completed, experience practiced and certifications obtained and/or maintained within specified time frames.
  • Ensure information is provided correctly to stakeholders by maintaining knowledge and sharing knowledge with team.
  • Participate and support corporate social responsibility initiatives for the achievement of key business strategies.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance processes, systems and policies and support implementation of new processes, policies and systems.
Essential Qualifications - NQF Level
  • Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
Preferred Qualification
  • SAPOA (South Africa Property Owner Association) Certificate/ Diploma
Minimum Experience Level
  • 3 years experience in the property industry.
