LECTRA PATTERN MAKER - AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY (Clothing)

Gem Schoolwear, school uniform manufacturer, based in Morningside, Durban seeks experienced Marker on the Lectra system.

Looking for vibrant, young, energetic persons wanting to work in the clothing sector.

We have positions available for focused individuals, with good attention to detail

Key responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

Handle ratings and create markers.

Grading experience is an advantage

Create new blocks on Lectra - Modaris.

Create patterns from blocks.

Print for sampling.

Assist with sample and adjust pattern if required.

Assist with Size Specification Sheets and grading rule for digitising.

Digitise all new cardboard patterns - handed by pattern maker.

Grade all new digitised patterns to specification.

Run markers for the production team

Prepare laysheets.

Roll markers and attach lay sheets - ready to go to factory.

Update electronic pattern book.

Assist pattern maker, factory manager on any production related issues that may arise due to marking.

Basic pattern adjustments - Modaris.

General administration work

Digitising hard copy patterns into the Lectra pattern system.

Maintain pattern numbering system within fit categories.

Position markers.

Supply of position markers and templates for new and existing styles.

Ensuring that print sizes are in ratio for garment sizes.

Sample briefs.

Working with the sample co-ordinator and pattern maker to turn around sample briefs in within the required sample turn around period.

Supplying sample patterns for repeat styles with corresponding position markers.

Pattern changes.

Carrying minor styling changes on patterns within the Lectra pattern system.

Deletion and addition of patterns within the system in accordance with fit specification changes.

Candidate Requirements

A consistent and methodical approach to pattern storage and numbering is required which enables entire department to identify and apply correct patterns to styles/ fits.

The applicant must have completed a course in pattern making on the Lectra computerised pattern system or have gained experience on this system within previous work experience

Must be efficient, with an ability for attention to detail, passionate about your job, take pride in your work and follow instructions carefully.

Must have good maths skills.

Requirements:

Matric

Relevant tertiary qualifications

2 years experience in a similar role

Experience within the manufacturing and/or textile industries

Experience working on the following: Lectra, Diamino, Modaris, Sync

Salary: Market Related
