A vacancy exists for a suitably qualified, experienced individual in the above-stated
post. The individual will form part of a dynamic team of academics, responsible for
undergraduate and postgraduate Teaching, Research and Community Engagement
in the Department of Social Sciences Education and Economic Management
Education, which s/he will be part of, within the School of Education, Faculty of
Humanities.
Minimum Requirements for the Position:

Master's in accounting / Master's in accounting Education;
Teacher qualification (e.g. PGCE, HED, or equivalent), or
Proof of enrolment towards teacher qualification.
A minimum of 2 years' teaching experience

, Responsibilities:
The incumbent will be responsible for:
The facilitation of learning at undergraduate and postgraduate levels;
Supervision of research projects of students at postgraduate levels;
Publication of research articles in accredited journals;
Participation in academic administration;
Development and coordination of modules in the programmes of the
Department;
Participation in Community Engagement programmes and third-stream
income of the Department;
Participation in material development;
Contribution towards the Department's transformational and strategic
goals.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL
ATTRIBUTES):
Knowledge and competency in teaching of Accounting Education;
Knowledge of the South African education system;
Ability to supervise students at postgraduate level;
Appropriate language and communication skill;
A strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
